The project concerns the conversion of an old two-story warehouse with stables into a modern detached house. The unique location of the building, in a crowded orchard with citrus trees in Chios island, as well as the small size of the two levels were catalytic factors for the composition and approach of its interior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the ground floor, where the stables used to be, the common areas of the house are organized in close proximity to the outside outdoor area of \u200b\u200bthe orchard, while the first floor (old warehouse) houses the master bedroom in its entirety, providing privacy and comfort to the users. The vertical movement between the levels is served by a wooden staircase that was built so that the space below to be used as a small warehouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The composition of the interior of the farmhouse was created in zones. Among other things, the visual escapes to the orchard were taken into account both for the bedroom on the first floor and for the living areas on the ground floor in relation to the auxiliary ones. Through the interrupted longitudinal wall that carries the staircase, main and auxiliary uses were separated on the ground floor while its continuation on the first floor was done both for safety reasons towards the void of the staircase and to maintain a common vocabulary between the different levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Due to the single floor plan of the bedroom, a partitioning wooden perforated ‘wall’ from cnc was made so that on the one hand it separates the wardrobe from the bed, giving interest to the side of the first and at the same time being the headboard for the second while keeping the visual contact with the rest filtered room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The general colors of the walls, exposed roof and ceiling of the ground floor are light in order to multiply the light inside, and only the dividing wall was painted olive-grey (a reference to the element of greenery that surrounds the house) to further emphasize the zoning of the premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The kitchen and island cabinets were made in the same color shade in combination with white technogranite, maintaining an earthy harmonious palette throughout the design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the majority of them, the furniture is custom made (bathroom cabinets, wooden bedroom wardrobe and fabric-lined wardrobe, boudoir, open bedroom column with blinds, etc.) to adapt to the dimensions, the needs of the users and the country style of the residence that was a goal for the entire design.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
